Our friends at Soul Running have invited us to go to Italy to participate at the Magraid event, and it is Alicia Christofi-Walshe who will be going to run the race on our behalf.
The Friuli Venezia Giulia Regional Tourist Office and Soul Running Italy are organising a press trip to promote the Magraid Race from June 16th to 18th 2017.
Magraid is a unique three days event through the great plains of the Magredi nature reserve at the foothills of the Dolomite mountains, some 150km North East of Venice. Running starts on Friday with 25 km, Saturday 55 km & Sunday 25 km, with overnight included in tents.
Magredi’s unique nature combines steppe, sandy desert, dry riverbed, small streams, stones and pebbles. Rare and typical plants, flowers and animals have lived in Magredi for centuries. The south border of this territory is marked by “risorgive”, a linear area where water, running down from the mountains flow underground to the valley and resurface at Magredi creating springs and rivers.
